According to a release this venture will be launched in Johannesburg at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) at the beginning of March 2008.
The founder, Themba Sikhosana, a 21-year-old graduate from Wits, told TheMediaOnline a single photo-copy machine will be placed in the cafeterias of the respective universities, where each student can print “three to four pages per day, until the paper runs out”.
align=left”As the service is free, we can expect it to be very popular with students. The paper used in the machines will carry colour advertising on the back, therefore the paper used will be thicker than normal.”
align=leftSikhosana said the Copycat Network would charge advertisers R2,100 for 1,000 copies and so far KFC has jumped on the bandwagon.
align=left”Once advertisers get used to the idea, we plan to branch out to the rest of the country, focusing on the big varsity campuses.”
