This follows Media24’s decision to cease publication of the title. TheMediaOnline previously reported Reader’s Digest Australia would take responsibility for publishing the South African edition from the August issue.
“We had 11 working on the magazine, including the marketing team. We now only have one person left to place within the company,” says Lynn Ferreira, assistant publisher of Reader’s Digest South Africa.
She adds: “The redeployment of staff will be effective as from 30 May, but the marketing team will be working on the magazine until September, when we hand it over to the Australian publishers.”
