Whisky beefs up sales staff
Whisky, which launched in February this year, is pleased to announce an addition to its sales team. “We are delighted that Heather Haydn has joined us and believe that she’ll add value, as a media broker, to our magazine,” said Shayne Dowling, publisher of Whisky. Heather brings with her 22 years of sales experience, of which 10 years has been dedicated to media sales for top-end consumer titles, such as Golf Digest, Psychologies, Fairlady, Cosmopolitan and Shape amongst others. She currently represents a number of select titles, all of which are lifestyle publications. Whisky is distributed via the top 100 flagship stores of Tops at Spar as well as leading hotels, premium bars and other niche venues.
Strong, agile executive team appointed at Primedia Sport
Primedia Sport, the holding company of five subsidiary brands active in sponsorship, entertainment and sport marketing, under the iconic leadership of George Rautenbach, has announced two significant appointments to strengthen the leadership team; Lyndon Barends as Group CEO, effective July 1, 2011 and Suren Maharaj (CA) as CFO, effective immediately.
Suren has been in the financial sector for the past 13 years and brings with him an arsenal of experience, having worked with and at a number of blue chip companies including Microsoft, Motorola, Ernst and Young and Deloitte & Touche to name a few.
The appointment of Barends as Group CEO signals a strong intent by Primedia Sport Chairman, George Rautenbach and the Board to keep the Sport Group as an aggressive, focused subsidiary in order to retain its market leadership position and further expand its market share.
New marketing appointment at RamsayMedia
In line with ongoing initiatives to enhance marketing intelligence and sales strategies, RamsayMedia has announced the appointment of Ella Hlakula to the newly created position of Group Media Strategist.
She brings considerable expertise to the new role, having qualifications in integrated marketing communications and project management and experience in market research with, among others, Media24, CineMARK and Applied Media Logic, where she was Head: Strategic Research.
