dotJWT’s strategic decision to launch a graduate internship programme for the digital advertising sector will have positive ramifications for the whole industry.
“It’s difficult finding talent within the digital industry because there is still a lack of good training in the marketplace. It was therefore decided that the best way to attract the brightest minds to the digital advertising sector was to create a six month internship programme,” says executive digital director at dotJWT, Yoav Tchelet.
“Work experience is critical and through this new initiative graduates will have the opportunity of gaining invaluable experience at one of South Africa’s biggest advertising agencies where they will be working on the digital campaigns of key multi-national brands. From this programme we envisage employing the interns we believe will make a positive contribution at dotJWT,” he says. “We will not be able to offer all the participating interns employment and those not chosen will still have gained work experience at a major advertising agency giving them an advantage on the job market.”
Tchelet says he received over 400 CVs, from which three interns were chosen.
