Iconic design and decor magazine, VISI, has been given a new treatment in design by graphic artist and indie publisher, Garth Walker, whose i-jusi experimental graphics magazine has an international cult following. VISI was recently bought by New Media, its long-time publisher.
“Garth has brought a fresh energy, high standard and great design sensibility to the magazine, which will help guide it through its next evolutionary phase and further ingrain its status as South Africa’s best-loved design and décor read,” says editor Sumien Brink.
Walker was commissioned to help direct the re-establishment of the title as the best in its category through the creation of a dynamic new design language. Based in Durban, Walker founded two of South Africa’s top graphic design studios – Orange Juice and, more recently, Mister Walker – and has worked with many of the country’s best-known corporate and consumer brands.
The first new-format Winter issue of VISI will be on-shelf in July.
