Bookings for AMASA’s annual workshop are drawing to a close, and should be made by Friday. The line-up of lecturers is sure to make it another successful workshop: Frank Tilley, Ryan Williams, Wicus Swanepoel, Helen Alexander, Dustine Tobler, Pam Stander (Unilever) and one or two still awaiting final confirmation!
The workshop is being held at the picturesque Little Switzerland resort in the Drakensburg from the 2 to 5 of August 2012. Themed the ‘Nuts n Bolts of Media Planning’, the workshop will delve into the latest crucial information that everyone in the media field should know and understand.
“It’s an opportunity for media planners and strategists, marketers and media owners to experience and learn from the media industry ‘greats’,” says AMASA chairperson, Lyn Jones, “then implement the gained knowledge in an all-encompassing media strategy and plan.”
Lectures are held from the time that the students arrive on Thursday, through to Friday afternoon. Lectures will be given by industry stalwarts who are prominent in the media, advertising and marketing industries. After the lectures, students are given a live brief, and are required to present their media strategies and plans on Saturday morning.
“Let’s not beat around the bush, it is hard work!” says Karen Van Wyk of AMASA. “Students will probably not sleep on the Friday evening as they prepare their strategies for the Saturday morning presentation.”
AMASA has held the 2011 rates for the 2012 Media Planning Workshop: R7 600 (excl. VAT) for AMASA members and R9 600 (excl. VAT) for non-members.
Price includes accommodation, meals, transport to and from the venue, all lecture notes and stationery.
