Primedia Unlimited has launched a new corporate app that engages the company’s clients on a range of media, marketing and advertising issues – plus gives them practical information such as rates.
The app, says CEO Ken Varejes, is designed to highlight the intrinsic benefits of its brands via an interactive platform that not only provides valuable content but also encourages user participation and interaction.
“Early on we realised the value and benefit of the smartphone and tablet platform within the day-to-day communication realm of our clients. We’ve therefore spent the last few months fine tuning the app in partnership with our key strategic partner iLogic,” says Varejes.
“Anyone can download an app; the challenge is to incentivise them to use it on an ongoing basis. To achieve this we’ve focused on presenting the best of our brands to users, on an easily accessible platform that provides key strategic insights combined with fun, interactive elements,” he explains.
As a result each of Primedia Unlimited’s divisions is presented in an easy to read, accessible format, together with rate guides where applicable. There’s also a Great Minds section that features key insights from a range of industry gurus such as Reg Lascaris, Gordon Muller, Gordon Patterson, Mike Abel, Michelle Meyers, Sizakele Marutlulle and Harry Herber.
Each expert will give a short and sharp summary of a particular insight that they consider key in the current media, marketing or advertising landscape. New contributions will be added each month to ensure that users always have access to fresh, topical content.
A Creative Rater section that allows users to upload pictures of creative executions, be they print, billboard or mall executions, giving them the opportunity to comment on and /or rate the work in an attempt to foster healthy industry debate. These comments can also be linked to a user’s Facebook profile.
Last but not least, a light-hearted game invites users to place a photograph of their boss or another ‘victim’ of choice on a cannonball and then shoot them towards a target. “It’s a bit of tongue in cheek humour designed to break the day in a fun and interactive way!” explains Varejes.
The app is currently available for Apple and Android tablets and smartphones.
