The Services SETA, through its collaboration with international marketing and communication experts is hosting a summit on Monday [18 February] to discuss how to collaborate with Services SETA’s sub sectors on finding strategic methods of how to strengthen relations with government, private sector, state owned agencies, NGO’s and NPO’s. This summit will potentially also unlock how to make better use social networks i.e. Twitter, Facebook, blogs, etc.
The strategic objective of the seminar is to impart skills on how to apply the dynamics of marketing practices done on an international level relating to marketing trends and branding. It further hopes to facilitate the development of a global mindset in this regard so that future leaders can address the challenges of global competitions.
The summit will focus on:
– SSETA’s Strategic Imperatives on skills development that is response to market needs and benchmarked to global best practices.
– An agenda to strengthen relationships with developing countries that share similar challenges and developing policies that are responsive to needs similar to South Africa (i.e. south-south collaborations, BRICS countries etc.).
– Through the partnership with Dr Kibria and Professor Kotler, the SSETA is looking at new development Approaches through Marketing, including social marketing.
– In the meeting, marketing will be framed as a major economic discipline that goes beyond promotion and selling, and illustrate its importance in a growing economy.
