Popular OFM breakfast show host Tim Thabethe is leaving the Free State for the Mother City, joining 94.5Kfm as the latest addition to its daytime line-up. Thabethe replaces Lee Downs on the afternoon drive show weekdays from 3pm to 7pm.
Thabethe is a seasoned broadcaster who has garnered great success over his 17 year career in commercial radio. He has been part of the anchor line-up of leading radio stations throughout the country including East Coast Radio, P4 Radio (Heart FM) and recently OFM where he has hosted ‘The Breakfast Club’ weekdays from 6-9am since 2011.
“Tim brings with him many years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge. He is loved by his listeners throughout the country and we have no doubt will add a great dynamic to our accomplished line-up.” said Colleen Louw, station manager of Primedia Broadcasting Cape Town.
Thabethe says, “Joining the Primedia Group and 94.5Kfm is a huge honour and privilege. I look forward to being part of a radio team that has as big a passion for people and music, as I do. We have just one small rugby related hurdle to get over!”
Listeners can tune in to Thabethe on Monday, 6 May.
