On Friday, 14 February, it will be a year since Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius was accused of allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. With the murder trial starting on Monday, 3 March 2014, eNCA will broadcast a documentary about Steenkamp’s key moments in her short life, Reeva Steenkamp, The Model you thought you knew on today [Wednesday, 12 February 2014 at 8PM and on Monday, 17 February at 8:30PM on e.tv].
eNCA’s specialist reporter, Karyn Maughan, spent almost a year researching and investigating Steenkamp’s life. The documentary includes never before seen footage of her life before she met Pistorius, and an account of what took place in the days leading up to her death.
“So much of the focus has been on Oscar Pistorius. eNCA felt it was important to take a long look at Reeva and bring her life to light. She was much more than just the victim in this case; she was a very special person and touched many lives,” Maughan says.
Pistorius is due in court on 03 March to stand trial for killing the up-and-coming model, he claims she thought she was an intruder.
