The Sunday Times is relaunching its Lifestyle insert this weekend. Edited by Carlos Amato, Lifestyle has been renamed ‘LS‘ and has undergone a complete makeover and promises a sassy and provocative look take on South African culture.
“Our mission is to reflect the excitement, pleasure and inspiration of real-life South Africa,” Amato says. “We want to cover the creativity, humour and fascination that keep us going amid all the problems and frustrations. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to edit this trusted and loved supplement.”
Star columnists Ndumiso Ngcobo, Paige Nick and Sue de Groot remain, as do the acclaimed books pages but a stellar line-up of compelling new feature writers and reviewers including Sipho Hlongwane, Rebecca Davis, Kavish Chetty, Darrel Bristow-Bovey, Kevin Bloom, Tom Eaton and Richard Poplak have been retained.
Some of the new features include One Shot – a look into the world of photography, showcasing one astonishing image every week; The Moment – a funny, warm and beautiful look at South African social life;
The Ecstasy Aunt – Lifestyle’s new sex advice columnist will explore readers’ erotic conundrums; Tech Style – will keep readers updated on the latest apps and gadgets; and The Conch – which is a revolving space for short and provocative columns.
