MTN has announced its sponsorship of the MOST Media Owners Award in the newly introduced Africa category. MTN’s sponsorship of ‘The Best Media Owner in Africa Award’ pays tribute to the industry that has been instrumental to the growth of the MTN brand.
The MOST Awards is an independent web-based survey that was commissioned by Wag the Dog Publishers and conducted by Freshly Ground Insights (FGI) to help media agencies and media owners assess and improve service delivery to their clients and media owner and media agency partners. The survey has six criteria which are ranked in order of importance and used as weighting factors for the rating scores submitted by respondents.
“We have evolved with the media owners and they have become our strategic partners throughout our growth path. They have helped us to communicate with our stakeholders and customers across the continent. We are pleased to be part of this exciting initiative which recognises and celebrates excellence in the media industry,” says Larry Annetts, chief marketing officer of MTN South Africa.
Media owners with Africa sales teams will be rated on their knowledge of their own brands, their understanding of client brands and market landscape, their service delivery, their ability to innovate and their proficiency to authorise deals as well as their passion for and involvement in their brand.
Sandra Gordon, CEO of Wag the Dog, says that her organisation has partnered with a brand that has become a major player on the continent and a catalyst for Africa’s economic growth.
“This partnership will raise the stature of these awards and bolster the development of the media industry on the continent. As one of the most recognisable brands in Africa, MTN was a natural choice for this category that looks at South African broadcast, outdoor and electronic media owners that sell media in Africa,” she said.
