Rob Smuts of RMS Media has officially received his MOST Media Agency Legend award. Michael Bratt attended the handing over ceremony and found out more about a charity that the company is very involved with.
The presentation of the award was done at RMS Media’s offices in Sandton. Smuts received the award from Nicole Hemingway of Mediamark. Creator of the MOST Awards Sandra Gordon was also part of the moment. On the night of the awards Smuts wasn’t able to be there to receive his prize and it was collected on his behalf by Cindy Diamond from Mediamark.
While at RMS Media’s offices one could hardly move with all the boxes lying everywhere. They were all part of the Santa Shoebox project that the agency has been involved with for the past four years. The project is a national initiative, which has grown from strength to strength over the last few years.
“RMS Media is one cog in a massive machine which collects over 100 000 shoeboxes for needy children,” says Smuts.
The shoeboxes are filled with a checklist of necessities and one or two festive goodies – cheering up those little souls who need it most.
The presentation of the MOST Award took place in the middle of the annual shoebox wrapping party which, Smuts says, provides a great opportunity for us to get together with industry friends and to make light work of the task!”
Zakhiyya Rassulmia, who works at RMS Media comments, ‘We are all guilty of taking life for granted! Getting involved in the Santa Shoebox project helps us to understand how fortunate we are. Knowing that we can help these little children celebrate Christmas, gives you a gratifying feeling.”
In 2014 RMS Media packed and wrapped over 100 boxes. This year they have had a record year of 137 boxes. “It is so heartwarming that our clients and business partners assist in making this project such a success year after year. It makes RMS Media proud that we bring a little bit of happiness to 137 underprivileged children,” says Angie Archer, who also works at the agency.
