The MOST Awards is already seeing a record number of votes as excitement for the 10-year celebration of the Awards builds. In the just over one month since voting for MOST went live, a new record for this short period of 363 votes has been achieved.
“The enthusiasm in the industry is palpable as we gear up towards our first decade of MOST. We normally see a slow rise in voting that escalates closer to the cut-off date, but this year voting has gotten off to a particularly healthy start. We are really excited to see what the final tally will be when voting ends on 2 July,” says Sandra Gordon, founder of the acclaimed Awards.
The MOST Awards recognise excellence in service delivery, knowledge and innovation in the media sector and this year’s event, held at The Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg on 13 September will be spectacular as MOST adds a number of once-off awards in recognition of a decade of innovation, growth and change in the industry.
“We are excited to celebrate this milestone with the industry and have added a number of exciting awards to recognise 10 years of excellence in various categories,” says Gordon. These include:
- Media Owner of the Decade
- Media Agency of the Decade
- Media Agency Lamb of the Decade
- Media Owner Lamb of the Decade
A particularly important consideration when voting for this year’s MOST will be who will receive the illustrious Media Agency and Media Owner Legend awards. Some of the criteria for nomination include strong -leadership skills, integrity, business acumen and a willingness to contribute time to the betterment of the industry. Past winners have been of a particularly high calibre; however Gordon notes that it is important to include people from smaller agencies when deciding who to vote for.
The Rising Star Award is another opportunity to recognise leadership, this time in persons under 40. Candidates for the Rising Star Awards are people who show strong relationship skills, are open-minded, innovative, confident, outspoken and challenge the status quo.
The user-friendly, online Awards survey asks respondents to select the companies they wish to vote for and requires that they are scored against a number of specific performance criteria. Companies are then ranked according to this data. Every vote counts and adds to the sample size ̶ the more votes, the more robust the research results.
