[CYBERTORIAL]* The hunt is over! Tweet, air punch, do the moonwalk, shout out loud…because at Madex 2018, information is in full view, easily accessible – and packaged for every generation.
“A year ago, at the inaugural Madex show, we started putting together exceptional content that would appeal to both the newbie on the block and the more experienced marketer,” says Nick Sarnadas, portfolio director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery. “We were completely blown away by the attendance during these sessions, realising the degree to which information is needed on pertinent topics and how first-hand lectures are valued by those in the industry. The popularity of last year’s sessions resulted in attendees eagerly anticipating the respected knowledge to be imparted at the 2018 event.”
Seminars will receive extra focus and extra seating this year, he says.
Attendees at Madex 2018 can look forward to two seminar theatres over both days of the expo, totalling more than 40 sessions. Categorised into The Fundamentals and The Academy seminar theatres, speakers will elaborate on the necessary foundations required for today’s digital and marketing industry against the backdrop of research and current studies, future business responsibilities and of course the inevitable monetary bottom line.
Some examples of topics and speakers at the Fundamental Seminar Theatre, attendees can look forward to on 6 June this year, include: Leadership at the speed of light: Leading & winning in a volatile, digital world by Femi Adebanji (author, trainer and speaker); Cost effective marketing moves: Instruments used to stimulate booming SME business by Paul Raphaely (founder of NOMU); Freelancing is the future by Robyn Thekiso (from SAFREA) and Debunking myths: Investigating the values of impressive advertising and promotion by Steven Isaacson (CEO of Barron).
Day two of Madex keeps the momentum going with a snapshot of the topics being Finding the right recipe: The hidden path to building a better brand by Dean Olschig (managing director at Brand Halo); and The transformation of video: Riding the social wave by Conrad Travis David (MD of Hashtag South Africa).
Simultaneously, the Academy Seminar Theatre will present Seven purple flags by John Vlismas; Social media marketing in 2018: Past, present and future insights by Jodene Shaer (co-owner of Chat Factory Social Online Agency); 2018 explosive marketing trends: Goals poised for greater heights by Chantelle Boysen-Fourie (MASA portfolio manager of communications, events and strategic partnerships); E-mail marketing reinvented: Effective practices for 2018 by Everlytic; and From insights to a superb marketing mix: Address unique marketing issues by Amantle Mokubung.
Day two delves into (among other topics), The truth about fake news by Ndumiso Hadebe; Exceptional content: Challenging the conventions of content marketing by Mark Sharman of Retroviral; and The art of strategy: Writing a potent & feasible social media & content marketing plan by Darryl Comley-White from Marketing Magnet; and Unleashing the power of digital: Delivering custom buyer experiences with marketing automation by Lisa Gertze (digital marketing consultant at Cloudsmiths).
Sessions on both days (in both theatres) start at 09:00 and end at 16:00. They operate on a first-come first-seated basis, and each session is between 20 and 40 minutes long.
Detailed information about the discussion topics as well as timetable is available here.
“Learning creates wisdom and success, and we know that this is what our industry consistently seeks – at Madex, we are providing inspiring knowledge that is presented by quality mentors,” adds Sarnadas. “Regardless of your level of learning, you really can’t miss out. To quote author and motivator, Brian Tracy: “Be a lifelong student! The more you learn, the more you earn and improve your self-confidence”.
Madex 2018 takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 5-6 June.
