National Geographic Kids has launched its third annual Young Artists Competition. The popular competition, sponsored by Bostik, allows kids to express their creative flair and let their imagination be their inspiration.
“We are excited to see what our talented readers will come up with this year, as they continue to submit works of art that are creative and original,” says NG KIDS editor Fiona Thomson. “Last year we received over 500 entries and we hope to exceed that tally this year. We encourage all entrants to get arty and let their imagination run wild.”
The competition is open to all kids between the ages of 5 and 14 years. Paint, stick or draw to enter these three categories: 3-D Sculpture, Collage or Mixed Media and Drawing or Painting.
This year’s prizes are worth over R40 000. Nine winners will get an art bag filled with art supplies from Bostik, a year’s subscription to NG KIDS, a Wii console with a uDraw Game Tablet, uDraw Studio game software and a copy of Pictionary courtesy of Ster-Kinekor Entertainment. The school that sends in the most entries will get the same uDraw prize package, as well as art supplies worth R5 000 and three art bags from Bostik!
