Rooi Rose’s Salome Delport, the magazine’s health editor, has walked away with the 2012 Galliova Health Writer of the Year award.
Delport is no stranger to winning awards for her well researched and insightful health articles. She also has won a kykNET Veertjie in 2012, a Pica in 2011 and was ‘n runner up in the Discovery Health Journalism Awards in 2009, all for her work in rooi rose. She has also been a Fellow of the Carter Foundation since 2010.
Delport is passionate about health: ‘health affects us on all levels. This is an exciting field with new developments, surprises and complex issues. Our focus is on how to look after yourself and your family. I believe that health management can be easy and fun!
