Ad agency Y&R Cape Town won the Antalis South Africa’s ‘Creative Use of Paper Award’ at this year’s Loeries with a campaign for Campari International/Edward Snell’s SKYY Infusion Pineapple.
“The Antalis Creative Use of Paper Award is great because it highlights the fact that paper can be put to use in its own unique way. With all the different media available today it’s important that we have a good understanding of how to make the best use of each medium” says Caroline Coughlan, marketing manager of Antalis.
Y&R’s prizewinning design comprised of a packaging piece, printed on a 460 micron SBS board Alpine Art. It was silver laminated on one side and printed with spot colour vinyl inks to give the foil effect. It had an overall UV varnish. The box was embossed over the full area before being creased and die cut. The printers who crafted the piece were Printafoil and Trident Press.
To celebrate the win, Antalis took a couple of bottles of bubbly and went to Y& R, delivering bottles of bubbly as well as two Apple iPads which were handed over to art director excited Rowan Foxcroft and copywriter Graham Krige.
