South Africa’s marketing industry has again been recognised in the international realm with New Media Publishing being awarded with four awards at the prestigious Pearl Awards held in New York that celebrate the best in custom media.
New Media Publishing was acknowledged for TASTE magazine, which the agency produces on behalf of Woolworths. The magazine took home two gold awards for “Excellence in Custom Publishing” and “Best Integrated Print and Web”. It also received two bronze awards for “Overall Design” and “Excellence in Custom Content”. In 2012 TASTE tied for Gold in the “Best Integrated Print & Web programme” category.
Commenting on the win Bridget McCarney, managing director of New Media Publishing says, “The Pearls TASTE received recognise the creative and aesthetic skill which is poured into the range of products the team produces for Woolworths.”
“At New Media Publishing our view on branded content is that the challenge for brands is how best to communicate effectively with audiences. Ultimately, rather than adding to the noise – brands need to find a way to layer communications – from ‘mass’ to ‘segmented and relevant’. To have our work be recognised by such a prestigious body is a testament to the skill, experience, and commitment our team has to continually produce a superior product which serves both brand and consumer,” McCarney says.
