Continental Outdoor Media has acquired the advertising rights to Ponte City, the tallest and most iconic skyscraper to grace the Jo’burg City skyline. The massive advertising structure, 15m high and 132m long, is supported on the Ponte City roof and affords Vodacom ownership of the city skyline with an almost 360 degree view from many kilometres away. Vodacom’s face is visible during the day, and at night enabled by approximately 7000m of LED lights mounted on the front of the structure.
“We wish to congratulate Continental Outdoor Media on adding this iconic site to their impressive and leading OOH portfolio in South Africa. We are proud of our client and media owner partnerships and look forward to seeing some great innovation applied to the site,” says Craig Page-Lee, managing director of Posterscope South Africa.
Continental Outdoor plans to revitalise the ageing signage with a massive upgrade to the advertising face and LED technology. “The Ponte building has long been embroidered into the fabric of all the majestic pictures taken of the city skyline”, explains Bazil Lauryssen, CEO of Continental Outdoor Media. “We are extremely proud to have acquired the advertising rights to Ponte and will ensure that Vodacom continues to enjoy dominance and massive exposure to most of Johannesburg”.
