Primedia Broadcasting has moved beyond the boundaries of conventional terrestrial radio to offer clients a media solution with highly engaging content for specific communities. The most recent development is Old Mutual Live, a pop-up radio station produced specifically for Old Mutual. For five days (16 – 20 April) the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon (OMTOM) will have a live stream radio station run by Primedia Broadcasting. Old Mutual Live will start on the first day of the OMTOM Expo, broadcasting from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) and will end live from the finish line at UCT on race day.
This station will offer a mix of talk radio and music drawing from Primedia’s wealth of on- air personalities. Presenters such as Alex Jay, Udo Carelse Ryan O’Connor, Liezel van der Westhuizen and many more will be hosting programmes that address key issues surrounding the marathon.
The content will cover training, nutrition, health benefits, race preparation and training music. There will also be guest presenters of the highest calibre including the likes of Professor Tim Noakes, who will be of interest to the niche audience.
When Old Mutual came to Primedia Broadcasting looking for a unique concept, the team jumped at the opportunity to offer a bespoke solution for their identified needs. Old Mutual was looking for more opportunities to engage with clients at a lifestyle rather than a product level. The annual Two Oceans Marathon (OMTOM) offers a platform to communicate with a captive audience and the pop-up radio station seemed an ideal way to speak directly to this audience.
