Briefly… APEX Awards jury announced

A change in size for Wild magazine is good news for the environment – and readers. The autumn 2013 issue of Wild is now out and it’s even greener than before. With every issue the magazine will save almost a ton in paper, the equivalent of a black rhino in weight. At the same time Wild will deliver more reading pleasure with 16 extra pages packed with stories on wildlife, travel and adventure.

The secret lies in the new format, a compact size that means less paper has to be used. It’s also easy to take along on trips, whether in your backpack or the glovebox of your car.

That’s good news for Wild Card members who want to take on the Karoo circuit featured in the autumn issue. Wild goes on a road trip through the country’s thirstland, and discovers endless views, big cat sightings and an abundance of stars. For offroad adventurers there’s the lure of a new 4×4 route in the Tankwa Karoo, a rollicking ride that goes where eagles dare.

Wild Card members receive Wild magazine four times a year. Membership can be purchased online at www.wildcard.co.za
