The sold-out success of Algoa FM’s debut ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet’ has resulted in the Eastern Cape radio station opening up an extra 500 registrations for the Color Run. The Color Run™ 5k has been taking the world by storm and its first leg in the country continues the vibrant pace.
This is the world’s single-biggest event series that brings a kaleidoscope of colour to runners who start the race wearing white and get doused in a different colour for each kilometre. In each colour zone – yellow, red, blue and purple – volunteers shower runners and walkers with clouds of brightly coloured powder. (It’s food grade, coloured cornstarch, so it’s 100% natural, safe, and washes out.)
The first ever event on African soil is set to mark an awesome Spring Day in Port Elizabeth as participants revel in all the wildness at the NMMU nature reserve in Summerstrand. The Color Run™ is a fun, family-friendly race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back, bringing together communities to create a five-kilometre-long canvas of colour.
