Radiokansel, ‘n Christelike gemeenskapsradiostasie met wye ontvangs, het by ICASA aansoek gedoen om die radiostasie se taalverdeling aan te pas. Radiokansel is alreeds vir meer as drie dekades die daaglikse reisgenoot van luisteraars. Die verandering in die taalverdeling gee daartoe aanleiding dat luisteraars vir LANGER sal kan LUISTER in ‘n taal wat hulle verstaan.

Navorsing het getoon dat luisteraars van alle Suid-Afrikaanse taalgroepe na ander radiostasies oorskakel wanneer Radiokansel in tale uitsaai wat slegs ‘n klein minderheid mense in die radiostasie se ontvangsgebied verstaan. Volgens dr Roelf Petersen, besturende direkteur van Radiokansel en Kaapse Kansel, het hierdie feit aanleiding gegee tot die versoek dat die taalverdeling aangepas word. Volgens die voorgestelde “taalmengsel” sal die persentasie Engels en Afrikaans verhoog word, met die gevolg dat ongeveer ‘n derde van die programskedule elk aan Afrikaans, Engels en inheemse Afrikatale toegedeel sal word.

“Dit is vir Radiokansel ‘n prioriteit om die Evangelie van Christus aan soveel as moontlik Suid-Afrikaners te bring. Die feit dat luisteraars vir LANGER op ‘n slag sal kan LUISTER gaan ons in ‘n groot mate bemagtig om meer Suid-Afrikaners te bereik. Elke luisteraar se mening is vir ons belangrik.”

Radiokansel vra luisteraars om te laat weet wat hulle van die beplande LUISTER vir LANGER “taalmengsel” dink. Luisteraars kan hulle kommentaar e-pos aan luistervirlanger@radiokansel.co.za of, indien hulle met die beplande beleid saamstem, kan hulle dit van nou tot 24 November op Facebook “like”, daarvoor op die web te stem by www.radiokansel.co.za of die woord “NEW” sms aan 37871. Sms’e beloop R1.50 per boodskap.
