The much anticipated Royalty Soapie Awards set to take place on Saturday, 8 March 2014 at the Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) will broadcast on SABC1 on Sunday 9 March at 20:30.
Fans not able to attend the awards will get to see South Africa’s soap stars, industry heavyweights, celebrities and socialites in a 72-minute special that will cover all the action from the red carpet to the awards presentation. There are 20 categories that cover a comprehensive spectrum that goes into making a great soapie. The categories include performance awards and technical production categories. Over 100 entries were received and Isibaya leads the pack as a finalist with 19 nominations across all categories.
“As a team we are thrilled to have the inaugural awards broadcast made accessible to the widest possible audience. It will be a night of glamour, entertainment and celebration for all to see,” says Royalty Soapie Awards project director, Sindile Xulu.
