With the annual Eastern Cape and Garden route festival seasonnow in full swing, organisers are partnering with regional station Algoa FM to attract festinos. After pulling in over 46 000 people at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees, the station is now broadcasting from the annual National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, which runs from June 28 to July 8.
In addition to this, Wayne Hart and Lauren Mungur, the duo on Algoa FM who presents the Fast Lane during weekdays from 3pm-7pm, will have a very busy Festival Season as they will be broadcasting live from two major events.
This includes a live broadcast from the Biltong Festival on Friday, July 13 in Somerset-East, as well as a live broadcast from Vodacom George Cheese Festival on Friday, July 27, 2012.
New addition to the Algoa FM team, Andrew Serfontein – better known as Drew – will be doing live crossings from the Knysna Oyster Festival from July 6, 2012 to July 15, 2012, keeping listeners informed and up to date on the highlights of the festival.

With our expansion into the Garden Route we are now able to extend this service to the communities reaching from Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, George and Mossel Bay as we get more involved in major festivals in these areas too,” says Dave Tiltmann, managing director of Algoa FM.
