The Annual Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture is presented by the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation in association with the University of the Western Cape. Advocate Thuli Madonsela, will this year deliver the lecture, the fifth in the series, following those of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (by live video link), Mrs Graca Machel, Mr Kofi Annan and Mrs Mary Robinson.
Since her appointment as South Africa’s Public Protector in 2009, Advocate Madonsela has earned kudos for the manner in which she has served society, courageously investigating corruption and maladministration without fear or favour. Her lecture on Wednesday will respond to the question, Democracy and Peace: What’s law got to do with it?
