Primedia Broadcasting tweaks its 947 presenter line-up

An extra hour added to Greg & Lucky’s show, and the introduction of a brand new show weekday nights are just two of the changes made to 947’s line-up.

Greg & Lucky’s show now starts at 15:00, as opposed to 16:00, replacing the Beats@Work slot that was previously there. This listener-driven hour music slot saw listeners send in requests via WhatsApp voice notes.

In an interview with The Media Online in May, 947 station manager Ravi Naidoo said, “The afternoon music slot is still up in the air as to its future, with the station still diving into the audience research and trends in afternoon drive time listening”, so this change should come as no surprise.

Date Night and the Bloc Party

The station is also introducing a new, music-driven show called Date Night into the weekday 10pm to midnight slot, which will have wall-to-wall hits with a focus on love songs.

The Bloc Party will also see a change with Karabo Ntshweng kicking off the weekend on Fridays between 7pm and 10pm, and on Saturday nights from 6pm to 9pm. She will be followed by Chrizz Beatz, who will be sharing his mixes with listeners until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

“We are constantly listening to our target market and what they want, and we think that these are all exciting changes for the station, that will enhance our offering of great music and engaging personalities,” explained Naidoo.
