[PRESS OFFICE] Voting is closed for the MOST Awards, with a record number of votes achieved this year. More than 600 votes were registered as excitement for the 10-year celebration of the Awards builds.
The MOST Awards recognise excellence in service delivery, knowledge and innovation in the media sector and this year’s event to celebrate winners will be held at The Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg on 13 September.
Among its accolades are the all-important MOST Lamb Awards, which celebrate media owners and agencies who have not acquired the necessary 30 qualifying votes for the overall MOST Awards, but have achieved between 25 and 29 votes; and are highly rated for outstanding performance across the set criteria.

“There has been some misunderstanding around this award in the past, but it is essential to understand that just because it is a ‘Lamb’ by no means makes it a lesser award,” said Sandra Gordon, founder of MOST. “The Lamb Awards were introduced in 2012 to ensure that agencies and owners who receive fewer votes, but votes of exceptional quality, are recognised.”
For recipients, the Lamb Award has far reaching reputational advantages.
Said Tanya Schreuder, Group Managing Director Dentsu Aegis Media Brands: “Being a Lamb Award winner gave us a wonderful opportunity to profile ourselves. It was a great accolade and whether you are a big or small agency, having Media Owner partners vote for you is a big achievement. It says you are standing out in the market and that the talent in the team is best of breed.

Michele Munro, Managing Director of MMAP, concurred: “Winning a MOST award raises the profile of the company, which is positive for new business development. It was also MMAP’s first award in the MOST Awards and our team was very proud of the achievement.”
