[PARTNER CONTENT] Adtopia has announced the addition of three new channels to its DStv television network: BASE Pulse (channel 322), WildEarth (channel 183) and SuperSport Schools (channel 216).

The expansion grows Adtopia’s channel footprint on DStv and extends its programming into new genres, giving advertisers additional ways to reach audiences beyond the network’s existing news, business, lifestyle, entertainment, sport and documentary offering.

The three additions each bring a distinct audience and content genre to the network

• BASE Pulse (DStv 322) – a youth pop-culture and entertainment channel blending music, storytelling and digital content, spotlighting African creatives and emerging cultural trends.

• WildEarth (DStv 183) – a live, unscripted wildlife channel broadcasting twice-daily safari experiences from locations across Africa, appealing to nature and lifestyle audiences.

• SuperSport Schools (DStv 216) – a 24-hour dedicated channel covering South African school and youth sport, combining live coverage, delayed broadcasts and archive content.

Together, the new channels round out Adtopia’s genre spread with dedicated youth entertainment, wildlife and nature, and schools sport programming, giving advertisers more precise ways to target specific audience passions alongside the network’s broad-reach television inventory.

Builds scale

The expansion builds on Adtopia’s existing scale. Across its DStv network, Adtopia reaches a combined unduplicated audience of 21.1 million individuals in South Africa (Source: TAM Arianna Reach) – equivalent to 89% of the Pay TV universe and 45% of the National TV universe.

Because that reach spans both free-to-air and pay TV audiences without double-counting, it gives advertisers combined coverage of over 100% across the two universes, a rare offering in the South African market.

“Adding BASE Pulse, WildEarth and SuperSport Schools to our network is about more than adding channels – it’s about opening our reach to audiences and genres we haven’t served before. Youth culture, wildlife and schools sport each bring a distinct, engaged audience, and that diversity is what makes our network more valuable to advertisers,” said Marco Montanari, managing director at Adtopia.

“For our advertising partners, this means more scale and more precision in the same buy. Whether a brand wants the broad reach our network is known for, or a specific passion audience like sports-mad families or nature lovers, we can now deliver that within one commercial relationship,” added Justin Hardman, commercial director at Adtopia.

BASE Pulse, WildEarth and SuperSport Schools are available now on DStv channels 322, 183 and 216 respectively, and are open for advertising bookings across Adtopia’s standard trading options, including GRP trading, bespoke reach-curve packages and Telmar off-the-shelf packages.

Current channel portfolio

BASE Pulse, WildEarth and SuperSport Schools join Adtopia’s existing line-up of six DStv channels – Cape Town TV, Soweto TV, Mpuma Kapa TV, 1KZN TV, Ignition and The Home Channel – bringing Adtopia’s total DStv television portfolio to nine channels.

The combined line-up spans regional and community programming alongside dedicated genre channels, all counted within Adtopia’s 21.1 million unduplicated reach figure.

About Adtopia

Adtopia speaks to a multiscreen environment, delivering advertising solutions across Traditional TV, Connected TV (CTV) and digital – spanning desktop and mobile – including InMobi and data-led targeting and measurement products.

Across its television network alone, Adtopia reaches an unduplicated audience of 21.1 million South Africans, and its broader digital ecosystem reaches 27 million unique users, giving advertisers full-funnel reach from mass-market broadcast through to precision digital targeting.
