In your inbox: special SABC newsletter on Afcon scheduling
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The countdown has started for the African Cup of Nations, being hosted in South Africa from 19 January to 10 February 2013. The official draw has taken place, and Bafana Bafana know just which teams they’ll be meeting in the first round of tournament (Zambia, Ghana and the Ivory Coast).

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will be screening the tournament on a dedicated SABC 1 channel, known to all as the ‘home of soccer’. This means there will be changes in scheduling to allow the soccer to take pride of place, but the SABC is pulling out all the stops to ensure the changes take place as seamlessly as possible.

All 28 matches will be broadcast on SABC 1.

On Wednesday, the SABC will be announcing just how the scheduling will take place, and how the programmes affected have been absorbed into SABC 2. The SABC will do this via a special newsletter hosted by The Media Online. Look out for it in your inbox tomorrow!
