Inking a permanent love for creativity at the Loeries
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Loeries has posed a question to the advertising industry: just how permanent is your love for creativity? If your love is deep enough to have the Loeries’ logo permanently etched on to your body in the form of a tattoo, you will be give ‘rockstar’ status at the upcoming awards weekend.

The logo – a bird perched among a cluster of leaves, designed by Jenny Ehlers from King Kames RSVP – inked on a bodypart will give the wearer access to the “most sough after and exclusive VIP events”.

Now you can have this logo as a tattoo, compliments of the Loeries. And the best part is that you will be given a Rockstar pass for Loeries Creative Week. The stuff of legends, very few have ever donned this coveted Rockstar wristband, which guarantees its wearer access to the most sought-after and exclusive VIP events.

“To be considered worthy of a Rockstar Pass, the Loeries wants something in return. A mark of your allegiance. A symbol of just how much you love South Africa’s biggest and most influential festival of creativity. Something that will almost certainly make you the most famous you.”

To get there, visit the Loeries Expo where Rob Turner Tattoos has a stand. Once you’ve registered and had your tattoo done, you will instantly become a Loeries Rockstar.

A Rockstar Pass gives the wearer exclusive access to all VIP functions, including:

• Egg Films judges wrap on Thursday

• Chairman’s party on Friday

• Design & digital party on Long Street on Saturday

• Loeries VIP Lounge at Julep on Saturday

• VIP access at both awards ceremonies (delegates must already have reserved seating)

• VIP access at the Channel O Party at Shimmy Beach Club on Sunday.

Highlights of Creative Week include:

The Loeries Expo opens at City Hall today and features activations, giveaways and prizes.  Exhibitors include DStv, Unilever, SAA, Hertz, Woolworths, The SpaceStation, Mediamark, Adams & Adams, Meltwater, Rocketseed, Chini Africa and Cape Town Tourism. Local fashion favourite Blue Collar White Collar will have a pop-up store with a brand new range of Men’s and Women’s fashion, so save space in your luggage and pick up something smart for the awards.

Tim Horwood, Creative Director at Viacom International Media Networks joins the International Seminar of Creativity on Friday. Horwood is an award-winning creative director and heads up the Production and Creative departments of MTV, MTV Base, Comedy Central, VH1 and Nickelodeon in Africa. He has been a South African Music Awards Judge for the last 8 years and was a part of the judging panel for the International Emmy Awards 2013.

Student Portfolio Day on Saturday showcases South Africa’s leading young creative talents at City Hall.

VIP delegates – don’t miss the Unilever brunch at the stunning Lookout in the V&A Waterfront on Saturday.

Awards Evenings take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre over two nights Saturday and Sunday. The dress code is strictly black tie.

Saturday Night on Long sees the Loeries delegates heading to Long Street to celebrate or commiserate. Julep will host the Loeries VIP lounge.

The Channel O Official Party at Shimmy Beach Club rounds of the week on Sunday as DJ Dimplez is joined on the decks by DJ Vigilante and DJ Milkshake bringing together SA’s premier Hip Hop DJ group MVD.  ALSO – World famous London DJ Sir Norman Jay, Dj Fistas Mixwell, Dj Andy X, DJ Sphectacular and Dj Naves.
