One of KwaZulu-Natal’s largest independent radio stations, East Coast Radio, has recruited international voice of the stars Howard Ritchie in their latest branding remix. In a move to strengthen market positioning, the radio station has opted to join London’s world famous Capital FM by using their well-known British voice.

Ritchie is no stranger to South Africa having worked on major radio branding projects in Johannesburg and Cape Town. He is also the voice of several new TV channels in South Africa.

“This will be my third appointment for a major player in South Africa and I will be glad to announce a fourth later this year, it is a pleasure to work along side local voices and talent and I am delighted that SA are widening creative horizons,” said Scottish born Ritchie.

East Coast Radio has a loyal following of 1.4 million listeners across KwaZulu-Natal. “While our radio station intends to stimulate and engage our local audience first and foremost we also want to internationalize our sound by offering the best international talent not just in music but across our station. Howard has proved himself to be a measurable marketing asset in other markets and as a result we decided to get him on board,” said Zane Derbyshire, programme director.
