E! Entertainment Television announces new local Production The Search: E! Host South Africa

E! Entertainment Television (DStv channel 124) has announced its new, locally produced series The Search: E! Host South Africa. Expected to launch on the channel in February 2017, the six-part series will follow eight aspiring presenters as they compete to become the first-ever host for the channel in South Africa, and next member of the E! family.

“E! Entertainment Television continues to invest into original programming and, with The Search: E! Host South Africa about to begin production, we are delighted to be showcasing local talent,”says Colin McLeod, managing director, UK and emerging markets, NBCUniversal International Networks. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for up-and-coming talent from across the country to pursue this unique opportunity to become a pop culture ambassador on E! in Africa.”

This new reality competition will follow the contestants as they live together in a luxurious mansion, showcasing their talent in a series of weekly challenges. Each week, one of the contestants will be eliminated by a panel of judges until only the most accomplished and tenacious contender – whose finger is firmly on the pulse of pop culture – is declared the winner. The winner will see their star-studded dreams come true, as they become the first-ever E! Host South Africa covering future events on behalf of the channel.

“As SENTECH we believe that giving back to our communities is one of the ways to address the socio-economic imbalances that permeates our society. By being proactive and seeking ways to reach out to those less privileged in our communities, we become part of the solution,” Sentech said in a statement.
