eNCA has launched The Voting Booth, a weekly current affairs programme combining voter research and on-the-ground reporting ahead of South Africa’s local government elections.
Hosted by broadcaster Naledi Moleo, the programme premiered on Sunday at 11:00 on DStv channel 403.
Produced by eNCA, the series will draw on a MarkData survey of 6 113 registered voters across Cape Town, Ekurhuleni, eThekwini, Johannesburg, Nelson Mandela Bay and Tshwane to examine the issues shaping voter sentiment and electoral decisions.
What voters say
The programme will investigate residents’ concerns about municipal performance and service delivery, including infrastructure failures, and assess whether local leaders are responding to the challenges communities face.
“The data, combined with balanced and fair reporting, provides a holistic view of voter sentiment and the realities communities face on the ground,” said Nisa Allie, managing director of eNCA.
“eNCA remains resolute in its commitment to provide audiences with the information they need to make informed decisions at the polls.”
Data-led stories
The research was conducted between 10 August and 14 September 2026 among registered voters who indicated their intention to vote. The survey used a multistage random probability sampling design, with interviews conducted face-to-face and telephonically in respondents’ language of choice.
Results were weighted to reflect population estimates, voter registration data and voting intention. The reported margin of error is approximately ±3% at a 95% confidence level.
The Voting Booth forms part of eNCA’s coverage ahead of the local government elections, with the broadcaster positioning the series as a data-led examination of voter priorities and conditions on the ground.
