Peter Allen is an award winning filmmaker and educator with a specific interest in animation, visual effects, and early film history. Peter's professional experience as a visual effects artist/animator informs his current research into practical effects for digital filmmaking, specifically adapting techniques developed in the early days of the motion picture industry for use in contemporary, low-budget digital filmmaking. Peter has served as a regular jury member for the annual ATOM awards and from 2014-2016 also for the prestigious AACTA awards in the categories of children's television and visual effects.
