Kagiso Broadcasting names head of marketing and tesearch

Black owned and managed media investment company Kagiso Media, has promoted Kagiso Msimango to head of research, trade and consumer marketing for its broadcasting division. The new position also puts Msimango in charge of driving the company’s Innovation Initiative throughout the group.

Prior to her promotion, Msimango was the group executive for Kagiso Broadcasting where she was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational activities of Kagiso radio stations East Coast Radio, Jacaranda 94.2, OFM, Heart 104.9 and iGagasi, as well as radio airtime sales house, Radmark.

“We are really pleased to make this announcement. The two portfolios perfectly complement each other as they are both highly driven by insights,” Omar Essack, Kagiso Broadcasting’s CEO and Kagiso media executive director. “With Kagiso’s experience in managing the brand and as a board member for various Kagiso interests, we believe that she is the best person to champion these disciplines.”

New appointment bolsters The Riverbed Agency’s PR team

Sandton based marketing communications company, The Riverbed Agency (TRA) has announced the appointment of Senzi Dlamini as junior account manager in the public relations business unit.

Dlamini joins TRA after a four-year stint with media and investor relations agency Financial Dynamics where he acquired strategic account management expertise and an in-depth understanding of consulting PR while servicing a number of clients, that included Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, The Competition Commission of South Africa, Miranda Minerals, Alexander Forbes Risk and Insurance Services and Vodacom South Africa amongst others.

His introduction into the practical world of PR began at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2006 where he trained as an intern, a role that exposed him to the dynamic nature of PR and fuelled his passion for media relations.

“We are pleased to have Dlamini who we regard as a strategic fit to the team.  He brings with him valuable expertise having worked on blue chip and global corporate business accounts. We are confident that this appointment will advance our efforts towards providing quality service to our clientele,” says Bongiwe Moeli, head of PR at TRA.

Leading agency NWC announces new MD

Leading advertising agency, NWC, has announced the appointment of Kate Ludwig as its new managing director. Based in Rivonia, Johannesburg, NWC is a specialist design agency that services keynote FMCG and skincare clientele. Ludwig has been brought into the position for her strong strategic direction and her dynamic personality and takes the reins from Helena Pereira.

“I am very proud to be a member of such passionate team who go to great lengths to deliver revolutionary creative work.  Together with the management team, I look to deepen our strategic partnerships and to continue to offer a “boutique” service to our clients. The focus for the business will be to enhance operational efficiency, to attract and retain talented individuals and to continue to enhance our packaging design portfolio and online portfolio,” says Ludwig.

The newly appointed MD has a long-standing relationship with NWC, as was previously a client for over six years while working at Tiger Brands. NWC is a multidisciplinary design agency that was founded over a decade ago.  Their diverse and specialist expertise spans a wide range of platforms, guaranteeing each client a relevant and effective tailor-made advertising solution. Ludwig has a determined and systematic approach to strategic marketing, with a solid business background and aims to bring in strong client insight into NWC.

Eureka Bos remains creative director and Marscelle Pillay continues as online director for the Agency.
