Briefly…Facebook enthusiasts and social media buffs can now add a splash of colour to their online activities, thanks to a colourful new application developed by paint company, Dulux and its Let’s Colour project. The innovative new app invites fans to “add colour to people’s lives” themselves by requesting them to donate a colour to a charity of their choice. Not only will users have fun with colour, but they’ll add a touch of the altruistic to their Facebook time too.
“Fans of the Let’s Colour Project page need simply to select their favourite profile pic from which a pallet of colours will be extracted. They will then be given the option to choose the colours they wish to donate to one of four charities. Each shade selected will then form an arc on a colour wheel, featuring the name of the Facebook donor. The colour wheel, once filled with the shades and hues selected by users, will demonstrate in a beautiful way how fans have contributed to their charity of choice’s chances of winning the grand prize,” says Dulux communications manager, Bennum van Jaarsveld.
The charitable cause that receives the most colourful donations will receive the gift of colour in the form of a revamp. With the widely accepted power of colour to transform the moods of both people and spaces, this is a prize worth winning indeed. Facebook “donors” also stand in line to win some prizes for their own use.
