The Young Lions competition is back. Cinemark, as the official South African representative for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, is sponsoring the local film category of the 2017 Young Lions competition.
Last year, Cinemark announced with a “heavy heart” that it was unable to sponsor the South African leg of the competition.
But it’s back and the hunt for some “seriously creative talent to join the main pride on the global stage” starts at 12 noon on Saturday [22 April].
“If you have what it takes to create an award-winning advert under pressure and in the most extreme of conditions – and still come out smiling on the other side – we are looking for you! If you want to test yourself against the best young creative talent in the country for the ultimate prize, read on…,” the cinema sales and marketing house said in its challenge to young creative talent.
The creative brief, which will have a CSR (corporate social responsibility) angle, will be posted on the Cinemark website at 12:00 noon on Saturday, 22 April, and all completed entries need to be uploaded onto the same website by no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, 24 April. That’s right… you have just 48 hours to deliver a 60-second advert, from brief to completed product!
