SABC ‘MG5’ commercial station, 5FM, has taken home three Best of Joburg Reader’s Choice awards this year.
DJ Fresh and his fellow Fresh @Five team grabbed the award for Best Radio Morning Drive Show while DJ Fresh received a nod for Best Radio DJ. Afternoon drive sports presenter Sias du Plessis of the Roger Goode Show, beat out the competition for the Best Sports Presenter prize.
Station Manager Justine Cullinan says the station is beyond pleased. “We are delighted that Joburger’s have voted Fresh, Sias and the Fresh @Five team as their award favourites. Though we are a national radio station, many of us are Jozi locals so it means a lot to us to secure awards on our home turf.”
The awards, launched by Leisure Options, are voted for by the public and is currently in its 18th year. It prides itself on being the “barometer of everything hot or not” in the city of Johannesburg.
