Chris Vick is the chairperson of COVID Comms, a network of communications volunteers working alongside government and others to produce and distribute accurate and helpful information on the Covid-19 outbreak in SA.

Vick an experienced spin-doctor and media strategist with extensive experience in political and public communication, particularly in issues management and crisis communication. His CV combines experience as a journalist, media activist, public and private sector communicator, media executive and government advisor.

Vick is also a highly skilled researcher, editor and writer, and has shown a consistent ability to deconstruct, package and communicate complex concepts, projects and processes through the media.

He has been involved in several ANC media policy initiatives and initiatives championing change in the South African media industry. Vick understands both the media economy and the political economy, and has extensive experience in public sector lobbying and communication. He also has solid relationships with key individuals in the media, political and business space.
