South Africa is home to some amazing women; mothers, sisters, bosses, teachers, colleagues and friends. Now essentials magazine is launched a nationwide search to find gorgeous ‘real women’ to model for the magazine.
Working in partnership with Yardley, the campaign is called You are Amazing, and is not about looking for super-skinny catwalk models – far from it! This is every ‘real’ woman’s chance to flaunt her fabulousness.“The women’s glossy market is very competitive, so we are always looking for interesting and innovative ways to connect with our readers.
“essentials has always focused more on real women than celebrities or catwalk models, so it made sense to launch a competition to find ‘real’ South Africans (by real we mean women of all shapes, sizes, colours and ages) to headline the fashion and beauty pages.
“This nationwide search for real models is a new era for essentials, giving everyday South African women the chance to become stars. Of course, we are ecstatic to have Yardley London as the sponsor and feel that this is the perfect partner for the campaign,” says editor Darren-Jay Hart.
essentials is asking readers to tell the magazine why they are amazing. After a nationwide search, 20 readers will be shortlisted by a judging panel comprising essentials staff and Carl Isaacs, make-up artist for Yardley London. These finalists will then be invited to Johannesburg to take part in a photo shoot for the June issue.
