The ABF Pub Quiz, hosted at Filet Signature Cut in Douglasdale was well supported by the industry, but the ultimate victor was the team from Times Media.
“We had a great turnout with 18 teams participating,” says Sharlene Valance, fundraiser for the ABF. “The teams came well prepared and were served delicious fare from Filet Signature Cut restaurant. We extend our congratulations to Times Media and our thanks to Incredible Connections and Tsogo Sun for their generous prize sponsorship.”
The quizmaster, Gavin Taylor, surprised the gathering with a cross section of questions from geography to literature. No cell phones were allowed and fines were handed out if anyone was caught cheating.
Taylor, an old hand at hosting evenings such as this, set a playful, genial vibe for the evening. “We would like to thank the following companies for their participation and support for the ABF: Cinemark, Obrian, MindShare World, AdZone, Charlie Bravo, Primedia Outdoor, Underline Advertising, NAB, Efficiency Media, First Win Media t/a Golf Unlimited, The MediaShop, Sunday Times, Sync Advertising, Times Media and Incredible Connection,” she says.
