The 14th installment of iWeek returns once again to Cape Town and promises an expanded week-long programme of workshops, panel discussions and events that are sure to add extra interest to South Africa’s annual internet industry gathering.
Taking place from 7 to 11 September 2015 at the Spier Hotel in Stellenbosch , this annual fixture on the local web calendar is co-hosted by the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA), the ZA Central Registry (ZACR) and INX-ZA. The Internet Society is also bringing its successful series of global ION Conferences to Cape Town. These conferences bring network engineers and leading industry experts together to discuss emerging technologies such as IPv6 and DNSSEC.
WAPA will be hosting the fourth Future Wireless Technologies Forum during iWeek. The ZACR will be hosting a History of .ZA: A 25 Year Retrospective, which will provide an interesting and entertaining look back at the quarter century of the .ZA country-code top-level domain, and the .ZA Domain Name Authority will be looking at the future of the namespace with a workshop on new .ZA second-level domains, and review of some of the current domains (LAW.ZA, SCHOOL.ZA and EDU.ZA).
As usual, iWeek will also have plenty of sessions targeted specifically at our ISP audience, including:
o Abuse Desk Training for ISPs
o Beginner’s Guide to B-BBEE for ISPs
o Cybercrime and the Law in SA
o Successful Media Engagement: A Guide for ISPs
o VSAT Business Case for ISPs
o What Does POPI Mean for the SA Internet Industry?
A detailed programme and registration form will be available soon on the iWeek web site, but we’d like to encourage you to pre-register for iWeek 2015 now, so that we can send you an email once registrations open. Click here to do that now.
