Coca-Cola wins Content Grand Prix at WARC Awards

A campaign created by FP7/CAIRO for Coca-Cola around the African Cup of Nations has won the Grand Prix in the Effective Content Strategy category at the 2018 WARC Awards.

The category rewards branded content strategies that can demonstrate a business outcome.

Coke is facing a challenging time in Egypt, as its rival Pepsi is the official sponsor of the African Cup of Nations, and Egyptian fans are losing interest in following their national team because there is a ban on live attendances. The soft drink beverage manufacturer has had to rethink and rework its strategy in this market.

Black Panther shines at MTV and TV Awards

Black Panther dominated the movie categories at this year’s MTV and TV Awards, scooping four honours in total.

Television super-show Stranger Things topped the television categories, also taking home four honours.

A full list of the winners, along with a review of the awards ceremony, published by Channel24, can be found here.
