Africa’s consumers have voved on. Has your growth strategy?

[PRESS OFFICE] Growth is not getting harder because consumers have stopped spending. It is getting harder because they have become more selective.

Across Africa, people are placing greater value on relevance, trust and experience. They are questioning purchases more carefully, expecting more from brands, and rewarding businesses that understand their needs rather than simply chase their attention.

The latest edition of dentsu Africa Digital Digest is built around a reality many brands are still struggling to accept consumer behaviour has changed, but much of marketing has not.

Through market trends, platform developments and proven case studies, the Digest explores where growth is coming from, where it is being lost, and what organisations need to understand to stay relevant.

Consumers are becoming more deliberate about where they spend, proving that the cheapest option does not always win. Trust is becoming a competitive advantage. Brands are finding that growth often comes from improving customer experience rather than launching something new.

At the same time, media is becoming more responsive, more contextual and more accountable, raising the bar for how brands earn attention.

Importantly, the Digest does not deal in theory. It examines what happens when these shifts are put into practice.

From dentsu’s Merkury-powered campaign for Razzl, which delivered significant improvements in engagement and click-through rates through precision audience targeting, to the award-winning InBloom campaign, which turned difficult social issues into active community dialogue, the case studies show what becomes possible when strategy is grounded in actual consumer behaviour.

The message is simple: growth has not disappeared. It has moved.

Consumers have changed. The opportunity has not disappeared, but the conditions for earning growth have. Brands that continue to grow will be those that understand where consumers are heading next and respond accordingly.

Growth has moved. Download the latest dentsu Africa Digital Digest and see where it went.
