Siphiwe Tshabalala launches Disney XD’s Aim High campaign
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Walt Disney Company Africa has selected Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala to front the fourth phase of Disney XD’s Aim High, Disney XD’s (DStv Channel 304) exciting initiative designed to inspire a generation of kids to get the most out of life, try new things and be the best they can be.

The Campaign offers fans the chance to win a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience with inspirational mentors.

Aim High is an initiative that gives kids across the country the chance to win a series of mentorships in a different field to learn how to realise their true potential. Seeking inspiration from world class sportsmen and musicians, Disney XD’s Aim High gives kids everywhere the chance to do what they love and love what they do. Whatever the route, the important thing is to Aim High.

Tshabalala achieved fame when he scored the opening goal for Bafana Bafana against Mexico in the FIFA 2010 World Cup. “It is a great honour to be selected as Aim High mentor. As a child I had great mentors who gave me opportunities that changed my life. It is great to know that I now have the opportunity to return the favour,” he said.

Entries open 03 May 2013.

To enter, fans simply need to visit the Disney XD Aim High microsite* or go to MXit >Tradepost > Entertainment > Disney > Disney XD before 13 June 2013 and answer a multiple choice question and then tell us why they should be selected for this incredible opportunity to learn from an international soccer star. The winner will get to spend an unforgettable day learning the tricks of the trade directly from their mentor.

Aim High’s previous mentors include singing sensation and winner of South Africa Idols 6, Elvis Blue, South African rugby star, Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira and international South African cricket star Dale Steyn.

Twelve -year-old Khethelo Hlongwa from Durban was the lucky winner of the first phase mentorship with Elvis Blue. Khethelo spent an inspiring day writing and playing music with his favourite singer. The winner of the second phase mentorship with The Beast was 14-year-old rugby fanatic Ruben van Heerden from Johannesburg. Ruben spent a fantastic day at the Sharks home stadium, playing rugby and training with his idol. Last year, 15-year-old Nishan Pillay from Pretoria spent a day with Dale Steyn at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, as winner of the third phase of Aim High.

Nationwide initiative launches on 03 May 2013 – exclusively on Disney XD (DStv Channel 304) and https://www.disney.co.za/disney-xd/aim-high
