FNB is inviting budding entrepreneurs, innovators, designers and thinkers to enter its ‘Ideas Can Help’ competition in a drive to showcase South Africa’s innovative talent, building on its own reputation for innovation.
“Help lives in everything we do, and the very act of innovation drives economic growth and sustainability. Through this campaign we want individuals outside of FNB to make a difference even in the smallest of ways to demonstrate how “help” can lead the way in growing and building our communities and country,” says Bernice Samuels, chief marketing officer at FNB.
The brief – be creative, be original, while making a real difference to communities in South Africa. The winner will receive R 500 000 to develop their idea plus a one year Business Development Programme / Incubation from the Vumela Enterprise Development Fund. The first and second runners will receive R 175 000 respectively.
The submissions received will be shortlisted and these shortlisted ideas will be published to the FNB Blog, where the public will vote on which idea will ultimately walk away with the prize. Supporters of the various innovations will also stand a chance to win R 3000 per week until the 15 October for showing support for the idea that they believe is the most helpful and innovative.
Eager innovators can submit their idea to the FNB Blog www.blog.fnb.co.za from Monday 23 July 2013. Innovation entries close on the 1 October and the winner will be announced on 15 November 2013.
