Joburg Style magazine has launched a digital edition of th publication. Joburg Style’s highly successful fifth birthday issue, which featured award-winning South African songstress Lira, is now live for viewing through the magazine’s website, Joburgstyle.co.za.
“This digital version of Joburg Style is a brand extension which gives us the opportunity to provide new and relevant offerings to our existing readers, while attracting new users through our wide-reaching capabilities. Through this malleable platform we are able to provide more information and content to our 100 000+ website users, as well as our other online communities such as our extensive Facebook fan base,” says Eric Bornman, head of publishing group Ballyhoo Media.
The editorial team at Joburg Style is able to make the most of their new content platform by uploading videos, live links, and a wide range immersive content. These new capabilities also provide more value for advertisers, giving them more opportunity to engage with audiences through the fore mentioned interactive elements.
“Certain formats are more suited to read on devices than others. For example, our printed magazine is placed in many hotel rooms around Johannesburg. When a traveller arrives in their hotel room, they generally will have all kinds of device admin to be handled such as updating mailboxes, connecting to networks and adjusting settings. This can create quite a cluttered device environment,” Bornman explains.
