Chris Marais is an award-winning author and photojournalist who has co-written 6 books and been to more than 50 countries on assignment. Based in Cradock and working out of a dusty dieselbakkie (pick-up truck) with his writer-wife, Julienne du Toit, Chris travels the highways and back roads of South Africa to record the histories, habits and lifestyles of all South Africans. Apart from his work for South African Tourism, Chris supplies cultural and travel editorial to SA Country Life magazine,Sawubona (SAA in-flight magazine) and The Guardian (UK).
